After introducing the need to “earnestly contend for the faith” (v. 4), Jude spends a large portion of his letter answering the question, why? He has yet to answer the question, how? Until now. As he concludes, Jude gives three commands that, when obeyed, enable us to stand for truth.
Jude isn’t the only one to warn about the judgment of sin. That is a theme seen throughout the whole Bible.
Jude speaks of those he warns about as if they’ve already been judged—there’s no uncertainty how God handles sin.
God always judges sin.
Biblical grace always results in holiness.
