This year CrossPoint church is commemorating both National Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day with a five-week sermon series titled Daughters of God. As part of this series, we’re looking at examples from biblical history of women that were used by God. Some of those women we hear a lot about (e.g., Sarah, Esther, Mary the mother of Jesus). However, there are about 250 other women in the Bible that don’t often get our attention.
In this message Pastor Logan introduces us to Abigail, “a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance” (v. 3). Abigail’s tact challenges our tactlessness. Through her wise and diplomatic—not to mention courageous—words, she saves the lives of her household and the reputation of the future king of Israel.
