It has already been ninety days since we set our sights on “turn[ing] fifty neighborhoods upside down for Christ.” As such, we have recently taken time within our gatherings to evaluate the progress we have made on our initial ninety-day goals and to set new goals for the next quarter. (You can listen to the audio of Pastor Logan sharing our entire five year vision here.)
Foreground Vision (90 Days—May 2, 2019)
1. Read: Have everyone read Letters to the Church by Francis Chan. Every new attender will be given a copy to read.
Not everyone who started this journey with us had finished reading this book, so we’ll keep it as one of our goals. (If you would like a copy, use the affiliate link above or grab one for free at one of our Sunday gatherings.)
2. Neighborhood Identification: Map every neighborhood currently represented in the body and identify locations for initial house churches.
There are still a few people unsure of the name of their neighborhood. We’ll take time within one of our Sunday gatherings in the next several weeks to help everyone find this information.
3. Fellowship: Develop a rhythm of spending time with one another outside of Sunday gatherings, starting by touching base with at least one person a week, inviting one person to do something at least once a month, and participating in a monthly church-wide activity.
This goal is intended to help us with our “[commitment] to obeying the Great Commandment,” as well as developing “meaningful relationships…and [facilitating] mutual discipleship.“
4. Ministry: Develop a rhythm of spending time with those who are not yet a part of our gatherings, starting by touching base with at least one person a week, inviting one person to your house at least once a month, and inviting at least one person to a Sunday gathering.
This goal is intended to help us with our commitment to “fulfilling the Great Commission” and achieving our one-year goal of everyone “having introduced someone else to the body.”
